OUR MANAGING EDITOR
I've learned to embrace my curiosity, often asking people, “What’s your story?”, a question that’s helped me connect, listen, and learn.
But I’ve realized it’s not always easy to answer, even for myself. With a background in journalism and marketing, I care deeply about storytelling that creates a lasting impact.
As the Managing Editor for the UNMUTE Magazine, this print is part of my own journey to speak up and help build a space for voices that go muted too often.
This is how I’m learning to UNMUTE, too.

The BRAVE NEW VOICES

The BRAVE BEW VOICES is a nonfiction journal published quarterly by The UNMUTE Project and dedicated to true stories written by real people. It’s a space for words only, no photographs, no portraits, just the page, the truth, and the moment.
We are not looking for “perfect” writing, we are looking for real stories.
Submissions: The Brave New Voices welcomes unsolicited nonfiction submissions from writers and first-time storytellers alike. Before submitting, please review the editorial guidelines. We read all submissions and aim to respond within two weeks. The journal publishes nonfiction essays and poetry only.

The UNMUTE Magazine
The UNMUTE Magazine is a post-event publication issued after every UNMUTE season.
Created by The UNMUTE Project Editorial team, it documents the conversations, voices, and moments that come together around the UNMUTE stage.
Through photographs, reflections, and highlights from each season, the UNMUTE Project magazine captures the spirit of the community beyond the live event.

The magazine exists as a visual and collective memory of every season, preserving the people, stories, and shared experience that make UNMUTE what it is.
​
The UNMUTE Magazine is released following each UNMUTE season and features speakers, contributors, and moments from the event. To date, four issues of The UNMUTE Magazine have been published.

UNMUTE: MOTHERS WHO WRITE
In our first season, mothers stood on the UNMUTE stage and spoke their truths. In season two, in UNMUTE: MOTHERS WHO WRITE they took their story from the stage to the page and wrote their truths. Because when mothers write their truths, they don’t just add to the conversation, they disrupt it.

This is our writing issue, and so we asked mothers: “What’s the title of your story?” and the answers turned into pages, raw, bold, and full of firsts: First-time authors, first stories, and first lines finally written.
