THE EVENT
UNMUTE Season Two: MOTHERS WHO WRITE
In Season One, on the UNMUTE: MOTHERS stage, mothers shared their real and raw truths to challenge the status quo, to change the narrative, and to reshape the conversation on what motherhood looks like.
In Season Two the conversation continues, grows and lingers.
Because in Season Two, we will take the stories beyond the stage, and onto the page.
In Season Two, we will write them!!
UNMUTE: MOTHERS WHO WRITE will amplify the #bravenewvoices of those mother authors who chose to write their truths.
Mothers who didn’t soften their realities to be algorithm-approved.
Mothers who didn’t shape their stories to fit a trending narrative.
This season we will feature aspiring authors, storytellers, and published writers to explore the meaning and the power of writing our truths, loudly, proudly, unapologetically!!
Together with editors, publishers, and writing mentors, we will talk about what holds us back; the fear, the doubt, the blank page, and what happens when we stop waiting for permission and start putting it into words
Because when mothers write their truths, they challenge the narratives that have erased, simplified, or romanticized motherhood.
Because when mothers write their truths, they don’t just add to the conversation, they disrupt it.
Because when mothers write their truths, they don’t just reflect history, they rewrite the parts that have been left out.
Because the truth a mother has carried quietly might be the story that changes everything, not just for her, but for someone who’s been waiting to read it.
What’s your story?

Unfiltered Conversations On:
WHY THE STORIES OF MOTHERS MATTER
When mothers write, culture shifts. Memoirs become mirrors. Stories become survival guides.
THE STORIES YOU CARRY IN YOU
You didn’t write it down. You didn’t think it mattered. But the everyday moments, the quiet struggles, the things you carry in silence they are the story. And they deserve to be read.
THE COURAGE TO WRITE LIKE A MOM (AND NOT LIKE A WRITER)
How to let go of perfection, trust your voice, and use start writing your truth, your way.
Because your story doesn’t need polish. It needs to be told.
THE BOOK YOU DIDN'T KNOW YOU WERE WRITING
You lived the story. You just haven’t named it yet.
By the end of the day, you’ll have a title. Maybe even the first line.
FROM VOICE TO BOOK DEAL
Understanding the path from idea to manuscript to publication and the industry gatekeeping that often keeps the truth out.

THE CURATOR
My career as a storyteller began in film where I stayed for decades producing audiovisual content before turning to the written word. As a novelist, story coach and creative writing lecturer, I love to share my stories and help others develop theirs.
While I love teaching how to tell a good story, it’s the why that I am more fascinated by.
In an age where stories are being recycled I feel myself drawn to the stories of those who aren’t heard enough to make a change, and among those are us, mothers! Mothers often need to think outside the box - and that also applies to storytelling.
Storytelling is as old as mankind and still, a big part of mainstream storytelling follows patriarchal and heteronormative principles, one of it being the celebration of the individual over community.
I want to contribute to UNMUTE and help build and encourage our community to tell their stories and have their voices be heard, to break out of this mold and travel new, untrodden paths.
I’ve always been a firm believer that stories are the best way to building cultural bridges, and in that same way they also serve as the most reliable teacher to create awareness in ‘others.‘
Let’s think outside the box together, as a strong and growing community of the new kind of storytellers.
