UNMUTE Season Three: MOTHERS WHO HEAL TOGETHER

UNMUTE: MOTHERS WHO HEAL TOGETHER is being able to lean on each other.

A lot of mothers go through hard times alone, not really sure who to talk to, what to say, or how to even start, while living with this unspoken or (sometimes even too much spoken) expectation to be strong, to cope, and to figure it all out behind closed doors.

UNMUTE: MOTHERS WHO HEAL TOGETHER is a conversation built around stories, not advice. It’s not about fixing anything or putting labels on how we feel, but about listening to real stories that show what it actually looks like to struggle, to fall apart, to ask for help, and to realise that even if we fall apart alone, we don’t have to get back up on our own.

From the mothers who feel stuck, the mothers who feel worn out, and to the mothers who who reached a point where something had to be said and done, UNMUTE: MOTHERS WHO HEAL TOGETHER brings these #bravenewvoices and amplifies their stories because every story matters.

From mothers who are dealing with loss, to mothers who are feeling anxious, exhausted, overwhelmed, or stuck, each story shared on the stage of  UNMUTE: MOTHERS WHO HEAL TOGETHER adds depth to the conversation and reminds us why being able to come together, to share our stories together, and heal together, matters.

UNMUTE has never been about getting it right or having all the answers. UNMUTE is about being real, about saying “this is where I am,” “this is what I need” and it’s the magic of realizing that we are not alone.

THE CURATOR

As a mother, innovator, and advocate for authentic storytelling, I have spent my life breaking norms and creating spaces where voices - especially those that are often unheard - can be celebrated. My journey as a mother to my 47-year-old son, Nate, has been an exploration of leadership, love, and resilience. After my separation from Nate's dad, we defied the typical narrative around co-parenting. Together, we created a co-op community that allowed us to continue honoring each other and placing our son at the center of our lives.

We built a Co-op Apartment complex—finding the land, designing the space, and securing the funding - where we lived side-by-side as neighbors and parents. This innovative approach to co-parenting was groundbreaking, and when our divorce was finalized, the judge was in awe of our creative and committed approach. For fifteen years, every Sunday at 3 PM, our son would move between our homes, finding stability in our untraditional, but deeply rooted, family dynamic.

I bring this same commitment to The UNMUTE Project, where I aim to foster spaces for unfiltered, unapologetic voices, stories, and conversations. Through this platform, I want to amplify the powerful, often-overlooked voices of mothers, celebrate their leadership, and challenge the status quo. Every voice has a place to be heard, and I’m here to create a stage for the stories that change us, shape us, and make us feel seen.
